How to get to Camp Falling Rock

Where is this Falling Rock?

If you're Coming from the Columbus Area:

  1. Take East Broad Street to Ohio St. Rt. 16 and head East.
  2. Take this to Ohio St. Rt. 79 North (The Cedar Street exit) and turn left off of the exit.
  3. Take Route 79 approximately 9.5 miles and turn left onto Rocky Fork Rd. -
    there will be a large brown sign signifying the camp as well.
  4. When on Rocky Fork, bear left (you'll still stay on Rocky Rock Rd.) over the bridge.
  5. Continue on Rocky Fork until you see a sign for Camp Falling Rock and turn left
    onto Houdeshell Rd. (the sign will say that this is the Summer Entrance to the camp).
  6. Continue up th ehill and turn into the camp on the right (immediately bearing left after
    turning right - if you take the right driveway, you'll go to the Ranger's House), and
    proceed to the parking lot.

If you're coming from the West (i.e. Cincinnati or Dayton):

  1. Take I-71 North to I-270 East towards Wheeling.
  2. Take the I-70 East exit towards Wheeling and proceed to Ohio St. Rt. 37 exit
    (Exit 126) towards Granville/Lancaster.
  3. Take a left onto Ohio St. Rt. 37 which is also Lancaster Rd.
  4. Merge onto Ohio St. Rt. 16 East.
  5. Take this to Ohio St. Rt. 79 North (The Cedar Street exit) and turn left off of the exit.
  6. Take Ohio St. Rt. 79 approximately 9.5 miles, and turn left onto Rocky Fork Rd. -
    there will be a large brown sign signifying the camp as well.
  7. When on Rocky Fork, bear left (you'll still stay on Rocky Fork Rd.) over the bridge.
  8. Continue on Rocky Fork until you see a sign for Camp Falling Rock, and turn left
    onto Houdeshell Road (the sign will say that this is the Summer Entrance to the camp).
  9. Continue up the hill and turn into the camp on the right (immediately bearing left after
    turning right - if you take the right driveway, you'll go to the Ranger's House), and
    proceed to the parking lot.

  1. Take I-70 West Towards Columbus and take the Ohio St. Rt. 37 exit (Exit 126)
    towards Granville/Lancaster.
  2. Take a right onto Ohio St. Rt. 37 which is also Lancaster Rd.
  3. Merge onto Ohio St. Rt. 16 East.
  4. Take this to Ohio St. Rt. 79 North (The Cedar Street exit) and turn left off of the exit.
  5. Take Ohio St. Rt. 79 approximately 9.5 miles, and turn left onto Rocky Fork Rd. -
    there will be a large brown sign signifying the camp as well.

  7. Continue on Rocky Fork until you see a sign for Camp Falling Rock, and turn left

From the South (i.e. Huntington or Charleston):

  1. Take I-64 to Ironton, and take the US 52 West exit to Portsmouth.
  2. Once in Portsmouth, take US 23 North to I-270 East
  3. Take I-270 East around Columbus, then take the I-70 East exit towards Wheeling
  4. Once on I-70 east proceed to Ohio St. Rt. 37 exit (Exit 126) towards
    Granville/Lancaster.
  5. Take a left onto Ohio St. Rt. 37 which is also Lancaster Rd.
  6. Merge onto Ohio St. Rt. 16 East. Take this to Ohio St. Rt. 79 North (The Cedar
    Street exit) and turn left off of the exit.
  7. Take Ohio St. Rt. 79 approximately 9.5 miles, and turn left onto Rocky Fork Rd. -
